TOILET PRETZELS///
Hey Guys,
I got back from Las Vegas the other week from WEVA, a videography expo/conference, where I was flown in to be presented as this year’s Battle of the Editors “Bridal Spotlight” videographer.

WEVA used the video of our very own bride, Sunni. They basically take all of the unedited footage and give it to three videographers who get to edit it and make a video. They then show it at the conference and the attendees get to decide whose video wins. It was a very big honor to be chosen as the source of the footage. I also had the opportunity to speak on two different panel discussions with some of the top wedding videographers in the industry–this was so cool and I had a blast!
Another special honor that I had was to introduce two of my best friends in the wedding videography industry, Mark & Trisha Von Lankin, of www.markandtrisha.com. They are amazing videographers and teachers located in Tulsa, OK. I had a blast the entire time I was there, always laughing and meeting new people and giving advice to other videographers.
I also got to hang out with several cool videographers such as Ron & Tarsra Dawson at www.cinematicstudios.com and Ryan Bodie with STUDIO 26 PRODUCTIONS.
I had a blast in Las Vegas!
ON to my NEXT TRIP!
After the Expo, I came home, rested up, and flew out with Lyn to Chicago to shoot a really cool wedding in Chi-town alongside the AMAZING Sarah Barlow with www.sarahbarlow.com. We all had a blast shooting the wedding and the reception–which was so cool. All of the guests were so good at dancing and really had a blast! Lyn & I got to stay with the Barlow family again, which is always fun and the whole family treats you sooo well.
They always make you feel welcome in their home…even when the power was out the day before…and the whole family had just gotten home the day before we arrived LOL! I felt so bad that we came right after they all got back, but Sarah demanded that we stay with them…which was nice because we are always glad to stay with them because they are so awesome.
Anyways, we all had an interesting time getting to the wedding that actually took place in Indiana at www.meyerscastle.com
You see, they had just experienced tons of rain and several tornados in the area. We had to drive for an hour to just go two miles down the road because all of the traffic was being re-routed due to flooding. It was crazy, but we made the most of it and had fun. If you can believe I drove a rental car in Chicago almost the whole time, and if you know me, I am usually nervous-as-all-get-out when it comes to driving in a big city. I could not believe it when I handled everything just fine.
Thank goodness I at least had a GPS and Lyn in the car, or I would have been toast!
Now on to the title of my post. You must be asking yourself, “Has Josh LOST his mind??”. NO, I haven’t lost it at all! The story is that Lyn & I were in the plane on our way back to Louisiana. Of course, you all know that most planes serve a little snack and drink shortly after take-off.
Weeeellll…everything was going fine UNTIL they began to serve us pretzels and drinks. I must say that my pretzels tasted a bit FUNNY. Even though they tasted bad, I ate them anyway. I went through the whole bag and licked my fingers. After all of that, I noticed a funny blue substance on my hands and said, “What the heck?”. The passenger sitting next to me was really weirded out by this as well. So, the flight attendant came by and asked, “Is something wrong?” and I said, “Yeah, my hands are blue and something is all over this pretzel bag”. She looked at me funny and told me that she was so sorry.
She and I began to talk, and I could tell she seemed funny and nervous about something. She continued to say, “Well, the only thing blue in this entire plane is….UMMMMM…”. Yes! I had gotten the blue substance from the toilet somehow on my bag of pretzels and ingested it! It was disgusting and my stomach began to really get nervous. The back of the plane was filled with laughter from several of the passengers. Out of the entire 40-something people on the plane, how did my bag, of all bags, get the blues stuff all over it when the pretzels were at the front of the plane and the bathroom was at the back of the plane??
Needless to say the flight attendant had to report it and had to sign all sorts of documents. I was treated very nicely after that…they gave me plastic wings, a can of Cranapple Juice, and a voucher for my clothes to be cleaned. Now, granted, this could have been something really serious and I could have gotten really sick. The flight attendant and the captain were both apologizing to me continually. So, there you have it: TOILET PRETZELS!!!! HAHAHAHA!
By the way, the flight company was Continental, so any of you flying with them, be wary of food from that airline…you never know where it’s been!
