TOP 25 IN THE WORLD

Well last week I was in Vancouver shooting and getting to hang out with my friends at Chris+Lynn Photography and also Laura Ann at Laura Ann Cinema then this week I was in Orlando for 4EverGroup Video 08.
I went to the Awards banquet and won EventDV’s Top 25 In the World 2007.

It was an exciting night with alot of fun with my friends and then I spoke on Tuesday for 3 hours on my concept “The River Of Creativity”. I had a blast all week and got to meet some really cool people. I also got to make a new friend Chip Goolsby. I honestly left the conference in INSPIRATION and excitement for the new 2008. I can’t wait to share whats coming up! We have so many exciting things in the works. This is the year of BIG things.. I feel it… I know it… I give all of this to God and walk without fear! I also wanted to tell you all who have supported me in everything THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE PRAYER AND ALL THAT YOU HAVE DONE!
YOU GUYS ROCK!

We finished the conference up on Thursday and then I am spending the weekend with some of my best friends the VonLankens. We went to Disney Epcot & HollyWood Studios riding alot of cool rides and just having a blast hanging out!

MADISON, WI–January 21, 2008—Today EventDV magazine unveiled the 2007 EventDV 25, and Joshua Smith of Monroe Louisiana CINEMATICBRIDE was named to the list as one of the 25 hottest and most influential event videographers in the business. The honorees were announced in the February 2008 issue of EventDV, and were recognized on Monday, January 21 in a special awards presentation during the opening night gala of the 4EVER Group’s Video 08 convention in Orlando, Florida.

“As the event video industry’s one and only all-star team, the EventDV 25 gives us the opportunity to recognize those videographers who are wielding the most influence today, through their innovative work, educational efforts, and outreach to other videographers,” said EventDV Editor-in-Chief Stephen Nathans-Kelly. “To make sure we recognized the right people, we turned the selection process entirely over to the ‘fans,’ and let our readers pick the team. Over the two-month online voting process, the readers cast well over a thousand votes, and our all-star team emerged.”

Shortly before Video 08, Mark Von Lanken tipped me off that he and Trisha would be targeting a younger demographic with their one-on-one seminars in 2008, and to do so they were bringing in the leading matinee idol of wedding video, Josh Smith, to do a full-day workshop at their April event.

This was a slight miscalculation on their part: for one thing, Josh, like many teen idols, isn’t really as young as his publicist would have you believe—he turned 21 last year; for another, the median age of the videographers Josh floored with Video 07 seminar last January was probably somewhere in the forties.

So I’d say Josh’s ability to blow the minds of videographers, brides, and Good Morning America watchers crosses all sort of demographic lines. Please recognize, from Monroe, Louisiana—which, until Josh came along, was best known as the birthplace of Delta Airlines and Tim McGraw—Josh Smith, CINEMATICBRIDE.

Well im taking a break for a second as we have been working our heads off trying to complete so many projects for this year! I have to ask with our new site could someone love it or should I say ME too much? This was captured from one of my best friends TimCo in NY in the Apple Store lol with his friend An Vo kissing away! Thanks An so much for the encouragement and im glad you like the site!

If your looking for an AMAZING photographer TimCo is great and really has a heart for making his clients feel comfortable and making them look amazing! I think you should checkout his work! By the way TimCo travels all over the world and international shooting some of the coolest and amazing couples.

Hey Guys,
Well its been a crazy week for me as two of my best friends have left to go overseas to work in Afghanistan & Iraq.
It’s hard saying goodbye for a whole year to two people you hang out with all the time.

My first friend Jon Aiken has been one of my best friends for around 10 years and is always a blast to hang out with. Jon is moving to Afghanistan for a year to work as a computer technician on a military base. Jon is someone who is full of life and will always make you laugh. He is really taking a giant leap moving over there and I pray that God protects him while he is there. (as you can see from the photo above he is is nut!)

My other Friend Alex you may know him from www.studiolife.cc he is moving to Iraq to work as a CB for a year. Alex was a marine and has worked for the CIA & FBI doing all sorts of crazy things. Alex and Lindsey (his girlfriend) have really become two of my closest friends. Alex is a cut up and I mean he will make you cry you will laugh so hard. (see him in the photo below, you get my drift?)

As this week has been hard you realize how important friends are in your life and how much you love them as brothers and sisters. Please keep both of my friends in your prayers as this will be a tough time for them both being half way across the world in a completely different world just about. I want you guys to remember who your friends are and how important they are to you. They keep you in line and are a great support group when times get tough.
